When Derek Shadforth of Sovereign Construction had a need for security at a new community centre he was building, he contacted Avantguard Security.
The iguard solution from Avantguard offered him the ideal solution, a flexible security package that allowed him to mix the use of technology, security patrols and permanent guarding as his need and risk changed.
This option provided Derek the comfort of knowing that his site was protected from the moment the construction team left the site, right up until they returned the next day.
‘The iGuard solution offers you a high level of security and an overall lower cost’
At the heart of the iguard package is the motionviewer beam detection technology that alerts us to anyone who is on your site as they cross a beam. The motionviewer sends a 10 second video clip to verify an intrusion (reducing false callouts), and a response team is dispatched to deal with the incident.
The Human Touch
In addition to the technology, an agreed number of random mobile patrol visits are made, providing a manned presence and making it difficult for anyone watching the site to know if there is security on site or not. The flexibility of the iguard package allows for upgrading from patrols to a security guard, at stages in a project where the best option is a man on site, generally when glass and higher value goods are being installed.
Typical savings in security costs:
For a 22 week project: 1 Security Guard on site from 7pm until 7am, Monday to Friday and 24 hour at weekends would typically costs around £20,000.00.
Iguard, for the same period: comprising rental of a 3 beam system with 2 security patrols per night, would cost around £6070.00, that’s 24 hour security from about £1.65 per hour.
Iguard is the Construction Security Solution:
